Burnaby is about to get a lot more vibrant with the grand opening of Birdies Eats & Drinks, a fresh, California-inspired concept offering lunch, dinner, weekend brunch, and daily happy hour.
Opening its doors on July 7, 2023, the Birdies team is all set to inject a ray of sunshine into the local dining scene!
Who is Birdies Eats & Drinks?
Emerging from a small, dedicated team at Earls, Birdies is a unique, independent venture that brings a laid-back, sunny Cali vibe to the former Earls Bridge Park location at 3850 Lougheed.
With an emphasis on quality, flavour-rich cuisine and a casual atmosphere, it’s shaping up to be a new go-to spot for anyone seeking a fun-filled dining experience in Burnaby.
Step Inside and Bask in the Glow
The stylish, fun, and relaxed restaurant has been given a trendy makeover by Emily Stadnyk and Creative Director Elly Chronakis. Its bright interiors are accentuated by touches of greenery, colourful fabrics, and local California-inspired art.
The 75-seat sunlit patio and the 20-seat terrazzo countertop bar are primed for those chill after-work vibes and lazy weekend brunches.
As Director of Operations Marshall Fuller puts it, “We see an opportunity in the market for a casual, fun concept with high-quality, addictive food and drinks at an inviting price point.”
Now, Let’s Talk Food and Drinks
Designed by Chef David Wong (Earls Culinary Development Chef; prev. Fairmont Pacific Hotels), Birdies’ menu is shareable, ingredient-driven, and promises a blend of healthy-ish and indulgent options.
Standout dishes include Oh So Sticky Korean Ribs, Thai Noodle Salad, and Rigatoni Arrabiata. Brunch enthusiasts, look out for the Poached Pear Dutch Baby Pancake and Aloha Bowl.
Cocktail lovers rejoice!
The bar program has a firm emphasis on fresh ingredients. The menu was crafted by Beverage Director David Stansfield and Katie Ingram, Vancouver Magazine’s 2020 Bartender of the Year.
The star of the show? Their signature Margaritas, lovingly crafted with fresh lime juice and 100% agave tequila. Don’t forget to check out the Birdies wine menu which focuses on sustainably grown, vegan, organic, and natural wine options.
What’s More?
In a hurry and don’t want to cook? Birdies got you covered! The on-site Provisions area offers ready-to-eat meals, ingredients, and sauces for those busy days or when you simply don’t feel like cooking.
