Luxury Tea Salon & Boutique Leaving Vancouver For Good?

At the start of every new year, many restaurants open their doors or ‘coming soon’ signs begin to appear throughout the city. But sadly, some also shutter as lease negotiations go array or other mishaps occur.

The latter seems to be the case with Singaporean luxury tea salon chain TWG Tea. The chain first closed its Vancouver West Georgia location back in 2021 and plans were placed to move into the previous Tesla showroom unit, beside Victoria Secrets on Robson Street.

However we noticed on Friday afternoon (Feb 11th) that a crew had begun covering up the TWG Tea Coming Soon posters with ‘For Lease’ signs – suggesting that plans may have fallen through.

Founded in 2008, TWG Tea was known as a luxury tea house and sold over 1000 varieties of tea sourced from 47 regions of the world.

When it was still around, Vancouverites could enjoy a special breakfast, afternoon tea, and dinner – with tea playing a part in each part of the meal. Not only did they offer beverages at their flagship location, but also packaged teas as well as teaware for purchase.

At this time, we’ve reached out to TWG Tea for more details on their plans in Vancouver.

But until then, you can keep track of all the new and upcoming restaurants by visiting our tracker here.
