Vancouver’s very own bright sugar haven, Yum Sweet Shop, is about to bring a lot more sweetness to Kitsilano.
Known for its delightful range of treats, this beloved Mount Pleasant sweet shop has announced the opening of their second location right next to the historic Hollywood Theatre on West Broadway.
Who is Yum Sweet Shop?
Founded in 2018 by Michael, an ice cream and sweets aficionado since childhood, Yum Sweet Shop is a haven for anyone with a sweet tooth. Michael’s fondest memories revolve around cycling to the neighbourhood candy store, carefully inspecting the candy offerings, and gazing longingly at an array of ice cream flavours.
It was this profound passion for all things sweet and delightful that spurred the creation of Yum Sweet Shop.
From developing their own creamy soft-serve ice cream to collaborating with other local creatives, Michael and his team have curated an impressive collection of goodies. The shop boasts over 200 types of candies sourced globally, a variety of hard and soft ice cream, enticing ice cream bars, and an excellent selection of coffee to balance out the sweetness.
With a successful first location on Main Street, the team shared on May 24th 2023 that this fall, they’re set to expand their candy empire with a new, larger spot in Kitsilano.
Step into a Sugar-Laden Wonderland.
The upcoming Yum Sweet Shop will be nestled in a new development in Kitsilano. With a promise of becoming Vancouver’s “largest candy, ice cream, and sweets shop,” this new store is sure to set your sweet tooth on high alert.
Like its current Main Street outpost, it is safe to say that you can expect a space full of colour and creativity, brimming with a variety of fun treats, just like their original store.
Although the exact opening date hasn’t been announced, we know the Kitsilano spot is slated to open this fall.
