Making plans for that Sea to Sky drive?

You might want to pencil in a new pit stop.

Ontario’s popular ice cream brand, Kawartha Dairy, has officially landed out West, opening its first BC location.

And they picked a pretty cool spot: Britannia Village.

If you’re wondering where exactly Britannia Village is, it’s that new little hub popping up along the Sea to Sky Highway, right near the Britannia Mine Museum and Britannia Beach.

Think cute local shops, a bakery, and now, some serious ice cream.

Kawartha Dairy opened its doors on April 10th inside a unique space – a restored church building that’s apparently 70 years old.

Talk about character.

For anyone not familiar (or if you didn’t grow up vacationing in Ontario cottage country), Kawartha Dairy is kind of a big deal back East (with 13 locations).

Started by the Crowe family back in 1937, it’s still family-owned and known for its super rich and creamy ice cream made the traditional way with 100% Canadian milk and cream.

The new Britannia Beach shop is serving up 35 flavours of their legendary ice cream.

Yes, thirty-five.

They’ve also got milkshakes and tubs to grab and go (perfect for that post-hike treat).

The setup includes an inviting patio facing Britannia Creek, which sounds like a sweet spot to chill for a bit.

Mike Crowe, a third-generation owner, said they “fell in love with the location” and are excited to bring the brand to Western Canadians.

It seems like a smart addition to the growing Britannia Village, giving folks another reason to stop, stretch their legs, and grab something tasty on the way to or from Whistler.
