Steveston Village Sports Bar Restaurant Closes After Three Years

If you have walked around Steveston Village recently, you may have noticed something different.

Good Co. Bars, the sports bar and restaurant that opened on the waterfront strip in 2022, has quietly shut down after roughly three and a half years in the neighbourhood.

According to Stevestoninsider, the bar closed back on January 8th.

The Steveston outpost first opened in 2022, when the chain was still operating under its original name, Colony Bars.

The rebrand to Good Co. happened around the same time, and the Steveston spot became the brand’s first location outside of Vancouver proper.

The chain originally launched in Kitsilano back in 2012 under the Colony Bars name and has since grown to multiple locations across Metro Vancouver.

Steveston felt like a natural fit for the brand.

It was a big space too.

The restaurant seated around 250 guests inside with room for another 80 on the patio, which overlooked the Fraser River and Shady Island.

For a while, it was one of the few spots in Steveston where you could watch a game on a big screen with a craft beer in hand and a solid food menu to back it up.

The bar featured 14 permanent taps from breweries like Strathcona and Philips, plus six rotating taps that highlighted smaller local brewers from around Metro Vancouver.

The location was known for its Pacific cod tacos, fish and chips, and made-in-house smash burgers.

Good Co. has not publicly shared the reason for the closure.

The chain still operates four other locations across Metro Vancouver.

You can find them on Granville Street downtown, on West Broadway in Kitsilano, on Main Street in Mount Pleasant, and at the Northwoods location in North Vancouver.

Regarding what is taking over the unit, rumours are that a Chinese noodle spot is moving in.

Good Co. Steveston now joins the list of recently closed Richmond food spots like Joyful Congee, Win Win Chick-N, and Bubble Waffle Cafe Parker Place.
