One of Metro Vancouver’s most popular premium hot pot spots just launched a late night all you can eat menu.
The Dolar Shop is now offering a Premium AYCE hot pot every night from 9 PM to 11 PM at both their Richmond and Burnaby Station Square locations.
The menu covers 60 items and starts at $55.99 per person on Sunday through Thursday and $58.99 on Friday and Saturday.
We were invited to try it, and the short version is this: if you normally spend $50 to $70 splitting a regular Dolar Shop dinner with friends, this is a genuine good deal.

The AYCE menu includes nearly everything from the regular a la carte menu, plus a few exclusives.
Exclusives like Wagyu chuck roll, salmon sashimi, tuna sashimi, and three types of handmade pate are all included in the menu.

These items are not available at ChoCho, which operates under the same restaurant group at a slightly lower price point ($42.99/person) and is less premium than Dolar Shop.
But unlike ChoCho, you won’t find any dimsum items here.
However, if you’ve been to both spots before, you know that Dolar Shop’s food quality and service are significantly better.
Instead of ChoCho’s iPad ordering, you get a large laminated menu and a sharpie and mark down your selections for each round.
The menu is split into meats, sashimi, seafood, balls and pate, veggies, starches, and appetizers.
Some sections have columns for first, second, and third rounds, but you can keep ordering beyond that.

Yes, that means multiple rounds of wagyu if you want – which you likely will.
There is also a deep-fried platter with popcorn chicken, corn, calamari, and sweet potato fries that arrives as a shared starter.

Like the regular Dolar Shop and ChoCho experience, you also get full access to the market table, which includes a sauce bar with 10 dipping sauces, fruits and a jelly bar with a dozen toppings.

Desserts, candy, and that ending ice cream are all included as well.
The only extras we found are the drinks.
Cocktails, mocktails, beer, sake, and wine are available at regular menu prices.
For better digestion, the grandma plum juice is the way to go.

There are some standard restrictions and rules though.
The seating limit for the AYCE is two hours, and last call is 20 minutes before your time is up.
Leftover food is charged at $9.99 per 100 grams, and no packing is allowed.
All quite fair rules.
Kids aged five to ten are $19.99 and ages zero to four are $2.99. Vegetarian diners get $5 off.
For under $60 on a weeknight, it is hard to find a better premium hot pot experience in Metro Vancouver right now.
And considering the service, food quality, and ambiance at Dolar Shop is better than ChoCho, it seems like a no brainer to opt for this AYCE menu if you are thinking of going here at night.
