Richmond is getting a new grocery store built around an in-house sushi counter, a carvery, and cookies baked hot off the plate.
Fresh St. Market, the family-owned B.C. chain, has announced its first Richmond location, set to open at CF Richmond Centre in Summer 2027.
The store will sit in the newish area of the mall, at 6553 Park Road and span 26,425 sq. ft, making it the company’s 10th location in the province.

That puts the opening more than a year out, and it gives the chain its first foothold in one of the region’s most food-focused cities.
The Park Road space had been heavily rumoured as a T&T Supermarket, but that plan appeared to stall as the Asian grocery chain turned its focus toward expansion in the United States.
The company says it spent years looking for the right Richmond spot before landing on Richmond Centre.
“Richmond has one of the most exciting food cultures in Metro Vancouver with a focus on fresh, quality ingredients,” said Palle Knudsen, Vice President of Retail Operations and Marketing at Georgia Main Food Group, which owns the brand.

Fresh St. Market runs on a public market concept, leaning on locally sourced produce, Certified Angus Beef, and dedicated food stations rather than standard grocery aisles alone.
Inside, the chain promises a wide mix of locally sourced and organic foods alongside specially curated items, the same format it uses at its existing stores.
The Richmond store will make sushi in-house daily, run a carvery, and bake its signature hot-off-the-plate cookies, alongside Peak Donuts and an expansive hot bar with ready-to-eat meals and seating.

For a shopping centre that draws steady lunch and weekend crowds, those ready-to-eat counters could become a quick stop in their own right.
The location is also expected to create local jobs and partner with a wide range of B.C. producers.
Like its other stores, the Richmond shop will carry two of the chain’s signature community programs.
It has worked with FoodMesh since 2020, redirecting surplus edible food into the equivalent of nearly three million meals for charities and individuals across the province.
It will also offer Borrow a Bag, a reusable bag system where shoppers leave a refundable $2.99 deposit, return the bag when finished, and have it laundered for reuse.
Fresh St. Market currently runs nine locations, with stores in West Vancouver, Kitsilano, Surrey, Langley, North Vancouver, Whistler, and Kamloops, and more planned across B.C.
The grocer joins a wave of food spots heading to the new Park Road stretch of CF Richmond Centre, including Marugame Udon, Big Way Hot Pot, and Breka Bakery, as the centre is rebuilt into a mixed-use residential, retail, and dining hub.
