One of the city’s most popular ramen spots is expanding yet AGAIN.
Ramen Danbo is coming to Yaletown.
We first discovered this outpost in early August, but things were all hush-hush from the Danbo team.
Well now the signs and the posters are officially up.
The unit itself has a short, blunt history.
Mapo Pancake House, the Korean savoury pancake and makgeolli spot at 1130 Mainland Street, closed in November 2025 after three years.
It has sat empty since, which in Yaletown is long considering its prime location.
For Danbo, Yaletown would be the second shop downtown after Robson, and the fifth inside Vancouver.
The others are Kitsilano on West 4th, Kerrisdale on West 41st, and Main Street, plus a North Vancouver room on Lonsdale.
That is a lot of Danbo for one city, and the pace has really picked up this year.
The Main Street outpost opened just recently in July, with a counter-seat only concept.
Whereas, Danbo Express, is due at UBC Village between late September and early October, built around self-order kiosks for the student crowd.
Yaletown makes three Vancouver moves in just two seasons.
What people actually come for has not changed in any of them.
Danbo focuses on Fukuoka-style tonkotsu, the thin Hakata noodles that cook in seconds and a pork broth thick enough to cling.
The ordering sheet is the other signature.
You choose noodle firmness, broth richness, garlic, spice level and toppings before anything hits the pot, which is why regulars have a memorized combination rather than a favourite menu item.
Chashu, seasoned egg and the spicy red bowl are the usual add-ons.
There’s no opening date on the signage, and nothing has been posted about hours, pricing or seat count yet.
But this is no doubt good news for locals and workers in the area.
After all, Yaletown has been thin on ramen for years despite the density, so a Danbo on Mainland Street fills an obvious gap rather than crowding one.
Danbo Yaletown joins other upcoming Vancouver food spots including Fresh St. Market on Hastings, Jersey Mike’s in Kitsilano, and Unveil Coffee Roasters.
