Eleven of the 30 top-ranked Chinese restaurants in Canada have a Richmond location, according to the country’s longest-running Chinese restaurant awards.
The Chinese Restaurant Awards revealed its 2026 Elite 30 Canada on September 23 at its 17th annual ceremony at the Fairmont Pacific Rim in Vancouver.
The ranked list covers Chinese and Taiwanese restaurants in B.C., Ontario, Alberta and Quebec.
Count Vancouver’s six entries too, and 17 of the 30 are local.
The top spot went to MOTT 32, the modern Chinese restaurant with rooms in Toronto and Vancouver.
As we reported after last year’s ceremony, Vancouver’s Dynasty Seafood Restaurant finished first in Canada and Chang’An finished second.
This year Dynasty lands third and Chang’An seventh, with Richmond Hill’s Flavourful House taking second.
Landmark Hotpot House rounds out Vancouver’s top five at No. 5.
Richmond’s highest finisher is Bamboo Grove at No. 6, followed by Sea Harbour Restaurant at No. 9 and The Fish Man at No. 10.
Further down, Richmond also placed Jiangnan Wok, Golden Paramount Seafood Restaurant, Long’s Noodle, Lanxuan Restaurant, Loon Fong Hot Pot, Max Noodle House, Yuan’s Garden Restaurant and HK BBQ Master.
Six restaurants are new to the list this year, and two of them are in Richmond.
Long’s Noodle debuts at No. 21 for Shanghainese cooking, and Yuan’s Garden comes in at No. 28 for Shanghainese and Huaiyang dishes.
The list is chosen by the 21-member Canada Taste Advisors Panel, chaired by founding judge Lee Man, and the awards say taste comes first, followed by the overall dining experience.
Man picked up an honour of his own this year, the Premier Visionary Award of the Year.
Wu Zhen Jun of MOTT 32 in Vancouver was named Dim Sum Chef of the Year.
“This year, we wanted the Awards to give diners a fuller picture of Chinese dining across Canada,” says Rae Kung, CEO of the Chinese Restaurant Awards.
The Signature Dish Awards went national for the first time, after running only in Vancouver in past years, and B.C. took six of the 12.
In Vancouver, the winners are the Braised Pork Hock at Kalvin’s Szechuan Restaurant, the Deep Fried Chicken Wing with Sour Plum at Landmark Hotpot House, and the Roast Suckling Pig at Chinatown BBQ, which is made to order.
Richmond’s three are the Pork Ball and Pork Tripe Ball Rice Noodles at UNCLE, the Sliced Fatty Beef Rice Roll at Hei Hei Rice Roll, and the Sweet and Sour Pork with Pineapple at Sanbo Chinese Restaurant.
Hei Hei is the Richmond Public Market rice roll shop that just opened a second stall at Burnaby’s Crystal Mall on September 1.

Across Vancouver and Richmond, Long’s Noodle and Yuan’s Garden join Dynasty, Chang’An, Bamboo Grove and Hei Hei among this year’s local winners.
