Popular New York Ice Cream Bar Just Opened at Vancouver’s Oakridge Park

A New York cereal ice cream bar just opened at Vancouver’s Oakridge Park, and its menu has three Canada-exclusive flavours.

Kith Treats opened on October 23 alongside the streetwear label’s new Kith store, its first in Western Canada.

Kith is the label Ronnie Fieg started in New York in 2011, and it now has stores from Tokyo to Paris.

Treats came along in 2015 as a cereal bar inside Kith’s Brooklyn store.

The brand says the idea goes back to Fieg’s childhood, when he would sell the school lunch packed for him each morning and use the money to buy his favourite cereals.

We hopped by anonymously on the first day.

There was a line outside, but it was mostly people waiting to get into the Kith store, not for the treats.

The Treats counter sits in its own arch to the right of the Kith entrance, with the menu on screens above a wall of cereal dispensers.

The menu has three Canada exclusives.

The Nanaimo is vanilla ice cream with Golden Grahams, brownie bites and coconut flakes, finished with chocolate drizzle and a slice of Nanaimo bar.

The Montreal mixes Frosted Flakes, Kariot and maple syrup drizzle, and The First Drop, credited to Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, is Cinnamon Toast Crunch, waffle cone pieces and cheesecake bites.

We got The Nanaimo as a swirl, which is $11.

It may look small in your hand, but they fully pack the cup.

With the chocolate and the Nanaimo bar slice on top, it’s QUITE heavy.

If you’d rather build your own, you pick a swirl, milkshake or waffle cone, then vanilla, chocolate or non-dairy vanilla, then two mix-ins.

The mix-in list runs from Lucky Charms and Froot Loops to Biscoff, Kit Kat and cookie dough.

The rest of the menu is signature combos named for the people who made them, like The Flat White by Virgil Abloh, which is Cinnamon Toast Crunch and toffee crunch.

There’s also a seasonal Pumpkin Patch with pumpkin, chai and Cinnamon Toast Crunch.

Down the hallway, the new Armani Caffe opened the same day.

If the line looks long, check where it actually ends, since the Treats counter has its own stanchions in front of the arch.

Kith Treats joins other recent Vancouver openings like Yoona’s Cafe on Robson and Linh Noodle Bar in Coal Harbour.
