Turns out Main Street’s newest café isn’t a café at all—it’s a window.
No, literally.
There’s a new bakery café pop-up quietly operating out of the side window of Hero’s Welcome, and it is one of the little surprises to check out this spring.
Earlier today, our café-loving friends @thecafebuzz and @omgheysam shared about this new spot.
And since we were already driving around the city dropping off festival passports, we figured…why not swing by?
Tucked on the side of the community-focused pub, you’ll spot a humble little takeout window with major baked-good energy.
Although the inside is small, you’ll see one side filled with loaves, canelés, bagels, cookies, cinnamon buns, and even nicely stuffed sandwiches.
This isn’t just some random baked goods situation either.
It’s a collab between Myra Maston, the former head baker at Ubuntu Canteen (yes, that Ubuntu), and Monroe from Hero’s Welcome.
The duo actually tested the waters with a one-off pop-up in February and now they’ve made it an ongoing thing.
The pop-up window is now open Fridays through Sundays from 10am to 3pm, and this weekend marked their second official run.
On the caffeine side of things, they’ve teamed up with Continuum Roasters, serving up drip coffee and pour overs for your slow-sipping strolls.
We picked up a pour over, a sesame bagel, and two cinnamon buns for the road.
Fair warning though: the buns aren’t your humongous IKEA-sized sugar bricks, but they’ve got charm and that nostalgic home-baked feel (and they hit the spot).
If the sun’s out and you’re already wandering Main Street, this pop-up window is worth a detour (or a dedicated mission).
Just spot the sign outside Hero’s Welcome and you’ll see it!
