Eight walk-bys since early May, every time at lunch or dinner, every time to a dark room with nobody inside.
Bon Pot, the chicken and fish maw hot pot spot at 120-8631 Alexandra Road in Richmond, has not been open on any of them.

Nobody has called it.
Google still lists the restaurant as operating, no notice has gone up on the door, and the Instagram bio still says open Monday to Sunday.
A hot pot room on the busiest food street in Richmond does not stay dark for three months by accident.
The bio is the only part still saying open. The account itself has not posted since February 4, more than six months of silence from a business that was barely a year old.
The clearest tell is inside the glass.
The red Lunar New Year couplets taped to the wood slats are this year’s horse-year set, the 马上有钱 kind you put up in February and take down when someone gets around to it.

Nobody has gotten around to it.
Behind them the dining room still has its menu posters up and a service cart parked mid-floor, which is what a room looks like when the last shift assumed there would be another one.
Bon Pot opened quietly on April 28, 2025, which puts it at roughly a year of service before the lights went out.
It took over the unit from Round Pot, and the changeover was about as light as a changeover gets.
Same slow-cooked format, same collagen-heavy broths, new name on the sign.
The menu ran to individual pots and casseroles built on golden fish maw chicken soup, coconut chicken, and tomato beef shank.
The unit itself is the part worth watching.
Round Pot opened there in November 2023, struggled through Alexandra Road’s competition, and ended up listed on Facebook Marketplace for $60,000 before closing in late April 2025.

We covered that sale. Bon Pot moved in days later.
That is two hot pot brands in the same room in under three years, on a street where roughly a hundred restaurants compete inside a few blocks and hot pot is one of the most crowded categories on it.
No successor has been announced, and no for-sale listing has surfaced this time.
Bon Pot joins a run of recent Richmond closures including Pot O’Yogurt, LUCA, and Meet Herb.
