Is the wait FINALLY over?

For years Burnaby locals have been waiting patiently for the opening of the Haidilao at The Amazing Brentwood.

In the past three years, the unit has remained basically untouched, with no significant developments since our last check-in mid-February 2024.

But it seems that the global hot pot chain has catapulted in progress and is now racing towards completion.

Updates shared by Khawa Wallpaper on Chinese social media have provided a sneak peek into the restaurant’s ongoing developments.

Below their post, they shared that should everything proceed according to plan, Haidilao is expected to open by the end of March.

Khawa Wallpaper further confirmed with Noms Magazine that the end of March is the target for completion.

But given the typical delays and curve balls restaurants run into — such as city inspections, staff training, and quality control — the opening could likely be closer to early to mid-April.

Noms Magazine has reached out to Haidilao and The Amazing Brentwood for a comment.

The Amazing Brentwood shared with Noms Magazine: “No exact date, but coming very soon!”

A Much Needed Update

Regardless, this update is hella good news for the Brentwood community. Many of the locals we’ve spoken to had started to lose hope of seeing the global hot pot chain open its doors anytime soon.

Haidilao’s opening in Brentwood marks a significant addition to the neighbourhood’s growing entertainment and dining scene.

Just this February, we saw the debut of the popular hand-roll sushi chain, Hello Nori, at The Amazing Brentwood after a long delay.

More exciting names like Saku and Abbotsford’s Bow & Stern are also set to join the area this year.

We’ll continue to monitor the progress of Haidilao’s Brentwood location and update you with the official opening date as soon as it’s announced.
