Burnaby Bubble Tea Fans Shocked by Sudden Closure Announcement

Sad news for Burnaby locals who prefer independent bubble tea shops over chains.

Burnaby’s Bobami announced on their Instagram on May 14th that they will be shutting down soon.

This has shocked many old and new fans of Bobami.

Bobami, which opened in April 2023 in Old Orchard Plaza, took over the previous Hou Cai Lei unit.

Bobami was founded by two families who immigrated from Vietnam to Canada six years ago.

Passionate foodies with a love for different cultures, they wanted to create a warm and comfortable space for people to enjoy drinks and hang out with friends.

Despite having no prior experience in the food industry, they were determined to follow their passion and create a business they truly loved, instead of working traditional 9-5 jobs.

Bobami’s menu is extensive and filled with options.

It includes classic bubble tea choices like brown sugar fresh milk and Jasmine tea, as well as unique drinks such as Fresh Kiwi Guava Tea, Fresh Strawberry Peach Bliss Tea, and Tropical Yogurt on the Rock.

Their goodbye post didn’t go into specifics on why they are closing but hinted at personal reasons.

As a farewell gesture, Bobami will be offering a Buy One Get One send-off on May 19th to show appreciation for their customers.

The final day of operation is May 23rd.

Be sure to visit Bobami before they close and share this news with friends who love bubble tea!
