New Sleek Korean Pop Up Cafe Opens in Downtown Vancouver

The Korean cafe brand behind Vancouver’s largest coffee shop soft opens a grab-and-go pop-up on West Georgia Street on October 15.

C Market Coffee is taking over the former Bonus Bakery unit at 1185 West Georgia Street, right next to Mott 32, and we got a sneak peek before the doors opened.

The soft opening runs October 15 and 16, and the grand opening follows on October 17 and 18, starting at 9 a.m.

When the window signs went up in September, they read “FOR A LIMITED TIME.”

Owner Bridgette Hyun told Noms Magazine that’s because this location is a pop-up, and how long it stays is still uncertain.

It’s also a smaller take on C Market.

Bridgette described it as a grab-and-go concept focused on takeout, built to match the downtown hustle, which is a big change of pace from the massive 5,000-plus square foot flagship on Main Street.

The lineup still covers the favourites, though.

Croissants, cookies, cakes, coffee and non-coffee drinks, and sandwiches, much like what you’d find on Main Street.

The cake case is lined with square Nemo cakes in flavours like tiramisu, lemon and a gluten-friendly pastel, with the Tiramisu Nemo Cake at $8.50, and the food menu runs from croissant sandwiches to bulgogi bowls.

Design-wise, it’s the same dark, modern and minimal look as Main Street, with a starburst light over the pastry island and a column wrapped in the C Market logo.

And even though grab and go is the focus, there’s still a decent amount of seating, plus more in the back.

The grand opening comes with giveaways each day.

The first 15 customers get a free drink and pastry, a C Market tote bag and a scratch card, the next 15 get a drink, pastry and scratch card, and the next 30 get a drink and a scratch card.

Scratch cards also come with any purchase while supplies last.

The top prize is a single VIP card good for one free drink a day through December 31, 2026, and the rest are free pastries, drinks and brewed coffees, claimable at this location by October 31.

This is C Market’s second Vancouver location, and Bridgette says more are on the way, though she can’t share where exactly yet.

If I wanted the tote, I’d be in line before 9 a.m. on grand opening day, since only the first 15 people each day get one.

C Market Coffee joins other recent Vancouver openings like Danbo Express at UBC, Yoona’s Cafe on Robson and Linh Noodle Bar in Coal Harbour.
