Longtime Chinese Noodle Shop ‘Old Xian’s Food’ Opens New Vancouver Restaurant & Food Mart

The wait is officially over—Old Xian’s Food Noodle & Mart has finally opened its doors on Cambie Street.

If you remember, we first reported back in October 2024 that this OG Chinese chain was taking over the former Corner 23 space (across from King Edward Canada Line Station).

Now you can finally check it out for yourself!

Instead of just another restaurant location, this Old Xian’s has fused a noodle shop with a convenience mart, giving customers two ways to experience their food.

On one side, there’s a fully stocked mart selling a mix of Asian snacks, drinks, frozen meat and grab-and-go meals like onigiri, bentos, and sandwiches.

More specifically, you’ll find prepared items like chicken curry cutlet bento, a crunchy chicken delight sandwich, potato salad, salmon onigiri and more.

The prepared food seems to be priced around $3.99 – $13.99.

On the other, you’ll find a dine-in area with a modern bold red aesthetic and casual-yet-comfy cafeteria vibes.

What’s on the menu?

The menu mirrors what you’ll find at Old Xian’s other locations, offering an affordable lineup of their signature Xi’an-style street eats.

Expect to see their famous Biang Biang noodles, cumin lamb burgers, dumplings, and handmade side dishes.

The most popular is S4 – Braised Beef Noodle in Soup ($14.99). You have the choice of 3 different noodles but you’ll want to get it in their iconic long and wide Biang Biang noodles.

You can also get this item without soup.

But as a soup lover (and it was raining like crazy), we opted for the soup version.

Prices are reasonable, making it a solid option for those craving a taste of Northwest Chinese cuisine without breaking the bank.

Note that the dine-in setup is semi-cafeteria-style—you order at the back counter, grab a seat, and the staff will bring out your food and even refill your water.

For takeout lovers, the entrance features a self-serve tablet where you can browse and place your order with ease.

Old Xian’s Food operates 3 other locations in BC, with one in Coquitlam, Burnaby, and Richmond.

But if you’re in the area and are looking for some noodles, this Cambie location may be a good option to check out.
