Hazukido Quietly Shuts Down Their Vancouver Location

It seems as if everyday we get tipped that there’s a spot closing soon or has already shut down in the city.

Well, this time Yaletown is seeing a change.

Hazukido, the Taiwanese chain known for its Japanese-style French croissants has now permanently closed its Yaletown outpost.

Hazukido stood out not just as a croissant shop but as a testament to the Japanese Shokunin spirit, which is all about dedication to one’s craft.

The brand has garnered acclaim for its use of premium ingredients, such as Japanese flour and French butter, alongside a unique folding technique.

This meticulous process results in croissants that boast a perfect honeycomb texture, ensuring a golden crunch and a rich, buttery scent in every bite.

With a menu that includes innovative flavours like Truffle Crab, Salted Egg Yolk, and Fresh Strawberry Custard, Hazukido has redefined the croissant game.

Its commitment to quality and innovation has fueled its rapid expansion across Canada, with 13 locations now open, including the recently launched Cafe Plus outlet in Richmond’s Aberdeen Centre.

Opened in October 2022, the Yaletown branch was Hazukido’s first foray into British Columbia.

Back in early March, the Yaletown location was listed for sale, showing its 1232 sq. ft unit for lease at $7186 per month and priced at $384,500.

Hazukido told Noms Magazine in April that the franchisee was looking to relocate, but retracted it shortly after.

At that time, they did not share a date for when the Yaletown location will shutter.

At the end of April, the Yaletown outpost offered a limited Buy 2 Get 1 Free offer until April 30th.

Earlier this week, Hazukido’s Google Business Listing shows its Yaletown location is now permanently closed.

As Hazukido leaves the neighbourhood and Bake49 switching away from croissants, the Yaletown area will now be lacking in croissant options. But Angus T can always be counted on!
