There is exactly one day this year when you can walk into a doughnut shop, pick out a doughnut, and walk back out without paying a cent.
Krispy Kreme is marking National Doughnut Day on June 5 by handing every customer one free doughnut of their choice, with no purchase necessary.
That is the headline deal, and it runs at Krispy Kreme Canada locations for that single day only.
The free pick is any doughnut from the case, not just a plain glazed, so you can aim for something fancier if it is in stock.
There is a second offer stacked on top for anyone who wants to take more home.
Buy any dozen doughnuts and you can add a second dozen of Original Glazed for just $2, with a limit of two on the discounted dozens.
Both deals are valid June 5, 2026 only, and the free doughnut is while supplies last.
National Doughnut Day falls on the first Friday of June every year, and the big chains tend to mark it with giveaways.
For Vancouver, the timing lands a little differently this year.
This is the first National Doughnut Day since Krispy Kreme finally opened its first shop inside the city, the cafe-style location at 519 West Broadway near Cambie that opened in December.
Before that, anyone in the city chasing a fresh Original Glazed had to drive out to the Delta production facility to get one.
Now the freebie is a short trip from the SkyTrain instead of a highway run.
The West Broadway shop gets fresh doughnut deliveries from Delta twice a day, so the boxes turning over on June 5 should be same day fresh.
A quick note on scope.
This is a Krispy Kreme Canada promotion, so it is not limited to Vancouver, but the West Broadway shop and the Delta store both count if you are local.
It is also a one day thing, so there is no quietly extending it through the weekend.
The giveaway lands during a busy week for the city’s doughnut scene, arriving alongside Lee’s Donuts rolling its prices back to 1979 for the same National Doughnut Day and Truffle Donut opening its first Canadian shop on Tyne Street on June 6.
