Mary’s on Davie: Canada’s Longest-Standing Globally Inclusive Restaurant To Close After 45 Years Of Operation

Another sad news to share…

After 45 years of vibrant service, laughter, and countless memories, Mary’s on Davie shared in their newsletter and Instagram profile today that they’ll be closing their doors on March 13, 2024.

They are Canada’s longest-standing globally-inclusive restaurant.

Founded back in 1979 by the legendary local drag artist, “Mrs. G”, Mary’s on Davie wasn’t just a restaurant; it was a home for inclusivity, celebration, and unwavering support for countless charities.

Their dedication to creating a welcoming space for everyone, especially the West End 2SLGBTQIA+ Community community, has left a mark on Vancouver’s social and culinary landscape.

In their goodbye message, they hint at a “new adventure” on the horizon and a possible relocation.

But until then, you can book your table or grab tickets to their final four drag shows.

It will be a fitting send-off for a venue that’s given so much to so many.
