It looks like another longtime spot has unfortunately quietly shut down.
We spotted a closure notice outside of Me + Crepe on Richmond’s Alexandra Road.
This marks the end of the chain’s run in Canada as all 5 BC locations will now have shut down.
Starting in Richmond back in 2016, Me + Crepe made a name for itself by serving up jianbing, a 2,000-year-old Chinese breakfast street food.
Think of it as the ultimate savory crepe: a thin wheat flour pancake cooked on a griddle, spread with egg, and filled with a combination of crispy wonton pieces, flavourful sauces, and your choice of protein or veggies.
It’s crispy, chewy, and packed with bold flavours.
They quickly expanded to Burnaby and Downtown Vancouver the following year before taking their creations international, opening spots in California and Seattle.
Fun fact: they were even endorsed as Jay Chou’s favourite crispy roll. Yes, the Taiwanese pop legend himself was a fan.
The brand offered 13 creative jianbing options, from Peking Duck to Crawfish Crepes, and even customizable builds for the picky eaters.
They also brought other street food favorites to the table, like grilled squid, hot and sour tofu, and soy milk to round out the authentic experience.
But as of January 19th, their Richmond outpost served its last crepe.
A heartfelt note on the door thanked customers for their support over the past nine years, but this closure means all BC locations are now a thing of the past.
The two US location remain to be open.
For those still craving some Jianbing, you’ll have to look elsewhere like at select T&T Supermarkets that offer this item at an affordable price
