Back in February, we shared the news that a new aburi sushi spot, Zenbu Aburi, was setting up shop right beside Aberdeen SkyTrain Station.
And now, thanks to another Noms Mag community member (@every.stephy) for the tip, we can officially say—it’s open.
Soft-opened last Friday, this spot is serving up some flame-seared goodness.
And if you needed an excuse to check it out, they’re running a 20% off promo for their first month—because let’s be real, we all love a deal.
Zenbu Aburi stays true to its name (Zenbu = “everything” in Japanese), offering a lineup that’s all about aburi sushi.
Their menu is packed with options, from classic sockeye salmon and hamachi oshi to crispy tuna oshi and even beef oshi for those who like a little variety.
You can grab them by the piece ($2.50 each) or go all-in with an 8-piece set for $18.
They also serve inari sushi, with toppings like spicy tuna and negitoro, plus combo platters for those who can’t decide (we feel you).
And if you’re the type who trusts the chef’s picks, a huge 46-piece omakase platter has got you covered.
The space itself is minimalist yet cozy, featuring light wood tones, corrugated metal walls, and decorative ceramic bowls mounted on small floating shelves.
It’s giving modern Japanese eatery with a touch of warmth—perfect for a casual sushi fix.
Next to the cash register, you’ll find a display case showing off their aburi sushi selections, so you can literally see what’s calling your name before ordering.
According to staff, Zenbu Aburi is an independent spot (no big chain affiliations here) and they’re just getting started.
The grand opening is set for March 21st, and they’ll be adding even more aburi flavours to the menu by then.
With Richmond’s food scene booming (shoutout to other new spots like SWEET7, LuckyJ, and Dinesty’s new Richmond Centre stall), this is one more solid addition to the mix.
If you’re craving some casual flame-seared sushi, now’s the time to check them out—and maybe flex that 20% discount while you can.
