Port Coquitlam is about to get a pho spot that Richmond diners have lined up for since 2018.
Pho 37, the Vietnamese restaurant known for its Number 37 beef noodle soup, is grand opening a new Port Coquitlam location on June 1.
They are taking over the previous DeDutch unit in the Westwood Centre.
To mark the opening, Pho 37 is running 15 percent off for the first two weeks, plus a grand opening giveaway with a chance to win a pair of match tickets.
If you have not run into the brand yet, Pho 37 has been a Richmond name since 2018 and built a loyal following for its pho.
The signature is the Number 37, also listed as Tuan’s Special Beef Noodle Soup, which leans on deep-fried beef for a smoky flavour that sets it apart from a standard bowl.
The menu runs well beyond pho too, with vermicelli bowls, rice plates, rolls, and other Vietnamese staples.
Across its shops, the brand has built a reputation for rich, flavourful broth, generous portions, and quick service, which is part of why a new outpost tends to draw a crowd early.
From that original Richmond shop, the brand has steadily grown across Metro Vancouver.
There are now locations in Richmond on Capstan Way and Steveston Highway, plus Vancouver spots on Robson Street and Commercial Drive, the latter of which opened just last fall.
Port Coquitlam is the next step, and it pushes the brand east into the Tri-Cities for the first time.
That matters for a stretch of the region where a well-reviewed, sit-down pho option is not always easy to find.
For pho regulars who have been driving toward Coquitlam Centre or further out for a proper bowl, this is a much closer option.
No word yet on whether the Port Coquitlam menu will match the full lineup at the older shops, but the brand has kept its core offering consistent across locations so far.
Pho 37 Port Coquitlam joins other recent Metro Vancouver openings like Namba Curry, Hiyori Coffee, and Time Out Market Vancouver.
