One of downtown Vancouver’s most affordable Vietnamese spots for about a decade just moved into a new home on Dunsmuir Street.
Pholicious is now at 519 Dunsmuir Street, starting November 2.
It’s the old Daeji unit, where the 20-year-old Korean pork cutlet chain closed its downtown location on October 8.
We spotted the Pholicious awning over the weekend already up over the door before the move, with a sign in the window pointing people to the Pender location: “GOOD FOOD… just a few steps away!”

If you’re downtown and after a cheap bowl of pho, THIS is your spot.
Downtown locals may already know the name.
Pholicious first opened in a tiny unit on West Hastings Street, right across from SFU Harbour Centre.
We survived university off them.

The House Special was just $10 back then, and it did the job between classes.
Then they moved two blocks down to Pender, with a slightly bigger dine-in space, and kept the super affordable prices.
Their bowls of pho are still under $13, and that is super RARE these days.
I’m seeing pho go for up to $19 a bowl at other spots around town.
The menu sticks to the basics.
The House Special Noodle Soup comes with beef, grilled chicken, beef balls and chicken balls.

Other best sellers on their online menu include the Chicken on Rice, the Special Vermicelli, the Grilled Chicken Sub and shrimp salad rolls.
The staff were always super nice, too.
It’s one of those spots where the owner remembers everyone. Super homey and sweet.
Now they’re on the move again, just not very far.
If you used to grab a bowl on Pender, the walk is the same, just to Dunsmuir now.
Pholicious joins other recent Vancouver openings like Armani/Caffè, % Arabica and Danbo Express.
