The spot that basically invented the West Coast fish taco is doubling down in the town that made it famous.
Tacofino just announced it is opening a second permanent location in Tofino this spring, this time right in town at 450 Campbell Street.
The new spot will sit at Tofino’s first four-way stop, making it one of the easier places to find if you are wandering through the village.

And no, this is not replacing anything. The OG Tacofino food truck off the Pacific Rim Hwy, tucked behind the Live to Surf shop parking lot, is staying exactly where it is.
That truck is a Tofino institution at this point.
It is the reason the brand exists, and the new in-town spot is designed to take some pressure off the lineups the truck sees year after year.
The Campbell Street location is also getting the largest kitchen in the entire Tacofino family.
That extra space is meant to improve flow and consistency during the busy season, and it gives the team more room to experiment with the menu.

The food itself is staying true to the beach-food formula that Tacofino is known for.
So you’ll definitely get those bold flavours pulled from West Coast culture and surf towns around the world, all wrapped up in a tortilla.
You can expect the classics to be there.
The iconic Fish Taco, the Crispy Chicken Burrito, the Fish Burrito, the Tuna Taco, and the Gringas are all on the lineup.
The new space is also finally bringing something fans have been asking about for a while.
Nachos are joining the menu, along with an expanded set of vegan and vegetarian options.
This opening marks the 12th brick-and-mortar location for Tacofino across British Columbia, alongside its roaming fleet of food trucks and catering setup.
What started in the back of a parking lot in 2009 has turned into one of the most recognizable food brands in the province.

You can now find Tacofino spots in Vancouver, Victoria, Burnaby, Squamish, and with the original Tofino food truck still leading the charge.
The timing makes sense.
Tofino has seen a steady climb in year-round visitors, and the summer surf-and-storm crowd has only gotten bigger.
Having a proper indoor location in town, separate from the original food truck, means locals and visitors will have somewhere to grab their fix without standing in a parking lot line for an hour.
No exact opening date has been shared yet, just a spring 2026 window.
So if you are planning a Tofino trip in the next couple of months, keep an eye out.
