If you have been looking for a reason to swing by the Parker Place food court, there is a new stall worth checking out.
Toishan Fei Mui has quietly opened inside Parker Place in February.
It replaces the short-lived Bubble Waffle Cafe that previously occupied the spot.
We went to try it out anonymously and came away impressed by both the portions and the taste.

The stall specializes in Taishan-style hand-shredded chicken, a traditional Cantonese dish where the chicken is poached and hand-pulled into strips rather than sliced.
The technique is meant to preserve the texture and let the sauce soak into every piece.
The menu revolves almost entirely around shredded chicken, offered in seven different flavour profiles.

There is the Signature Original starting at $14.99, along with Black Truffle, Ginger and Green Onion, Wasabi Sauce, Szechuan Spicy, Lemon Sauce, and Drunk Chicken, all ranging from $17.99 to $19.00 for a rice combo plate.
Combo upgrades are available for one person at $19.99, which adds a side rice dish and daily soup or drink.
We ordered the Shredded Chicken with Ginger and Green Onion on Rice.
The chicken was tender and generously portioned, topped with a pile of julienned ginger and scallions.

We paired it with the Taishan Fried Rice, which is available as a side.
Taste wise, we were impressed and would order it again.
Beyond the rice combos, you can also order shredded chicken by portion size.

If the name sounds familiar, there is a stall called Fei Mui Tasty Foods in the Pacific Plaza food court that serves similar dishes.
We were told the two stalls are not closely related despite the overlap in name and concept.
Toishan Fei Mui now joins other recently opened food spots in Richmond like Crumbl Cookies, Loon Fong Hotpot, and Shawarma 2 Go Grill.
