New Korean Snack Bar ‘Nom Nom Seoul’ to Replace Nukid Bakery in Vancouver’s West End

Last week we broke the news of Nukid Bakery + Cafe’s sudden closure and many fans of the bakery were devasted to see it go.

While we anticipated a lengthy vacancy, a Noms Magazine community member (@cody.lo.09) spotted a sign earlier this week teasing the arrival of a new concept: Nom Nom Seoul, a Korean snack bar.

What an amazing name right ;)?

Although this upcoming Korean Snack Bar does not have a working website or Instagram presence yet, we discovered that it may be connected to a design agency called New Concept mentioned on the poster.

This is the same design branding agency that created the playful and vibrant brand, interior, and marketing for Nukid and On & Off.

The Connection: A Tale of Brands and Eateries

Word on the street is that Nukid, Tabom, On & Off Restaurant in Coquitlam, and Nom Nom Seoul all fall under the same ownership.

It is not confirmed but New Concept definitely has a hand in each spot.

On New Concept’s Instagram profile, you’ll find several designs specifically created for Nom Nom Seoul.

The packaging designs reveal that the new snack bar will most likely continue Nukid’s legacy of offering baked goods alongside snacks, food, drinks, and dessert.

In the sticker pack graphic, the mascot for Nom Nom Seoul is seen enjoying a plate of pasta and either a cookie or kimbap in another graphic. This could be hints to what we can expect from the spot!

According to the caption of a post by New Concept, Nom Nom Seoul is set to open this winter.

While the departure of Nukid Bakery is a loss for its fans, the upcoming opening of Nom Nom Seoul will be interesting to see if such concept can appease the appetite of locals and survive the tough economy.
