If you’re a fan of afternoon tea in downtown Vancouver, you’ll have one less option to hit up.
Le Doux Ciel has announced the closure of its flagship location at PARQ Vancouver, officially shutting down at the end of October.
Le Doux Ciel first started in 2008, exploring the art of French and Belgian pastries.
The PARQ Vancouver location, which opened its doors in 2019, quickly became a standout destination for those craving a posh afternoon tea experience or wanting to treat themselves to beautifully crafted sweets.
The flagship location boasted a charming, upscale interior—perfect for enjoying a seasonal themed afternoon tea or a decorative pastry.
The patisserie also offered croissants and a brunch menu.
Le Doux Ciel has had multiple locations throughout Metro Vancouver over the years.
In 2022, they also opened a store in Richmond’s Aberdeen Centre, but that location saw a short-lived run before it closed.
The unit remained vacant for over a year until signage for Uncle Tetsu appeared earlier this summer.
While the closure of the PARQ Vancouver flagship marks the end of an era, Le Doux Ciel isn’t disappearing altogether.
From their announcement, they’ve revealed that they have already a new location on West Broadway (1038 W Broadway), taking over the previous CALM Cafe unit.
Additionally, they are planning to open another store at SFU’s Burnaby campus, bringing their beloved pastries to new communities.
While the downtown Vancouver location has shut down, you’ll still be able to get Le Doux Ciel’s creations by ordering online or at the West Broadway and upcoming SFU Burnaby locations.
