Mid-Autumn Festival falls on September 25 this year, and Metro Vancouver’s mooncake lineup goes well beyond the usual lotus paste.
There are tea-filled lava boxes, mango cheesecake snow skins, vegan mooncakes and even a giant version for a big family gathering.
Here are the boxes and seasonal treats to check out for your September celebrations.
1. La Lune Collection – Beaucoup Bakery

Beaucoup has two very different boxes for the table this year.
The three-piece Maison set wraps Raspberry Pistachio, Black Sesame Roasted Corn and Saffron Orange Blossom in butter sablé crusts.
For a BIGGER centrepiece, the Grande packs lotus seed paste and four salted duck egg yolks into one Cantonese-style mooncake, complete with a gold-coloured tin.
Bring a big knife for that one.
Available: September 4 to 25, 2026
Price: $28 for three Maison mooncakes; $42 for one Grande
Address: 2150 Fir Street, Vancouver; pickup also offered at the Dunsmuir Street location

2. Snowy Lava Mooncakes – La Saison de Patisserie

Hong Kong Milk Tea and Mango Pomelo are joining La Saison’s Snowy Lava Mooncake box this year, along with Ube.
The six-piece set rounds things out with Salted Egg Yolk, Black Sesame Lava and Matcha Red Bean Lava, so you get one of every flavour.
It’s a handy box to split when everyone has a different favourite dessert.
The September price is $59, with orders through the Rupert Street bakery’s online shop.

There are two pickup weekends: September 19 and 20, then September 26 and 27.

The rest of the box brings Matcha Black Sesame Matcha, Osmanthus Jasmine Green Tea and Tangerine Pu-erh Chocolate lava mooncakes.

Everything is made on the pickup day.
A three-piece box lets you try all three teas, while the six-piece version doubles up each flavour for sharing.
