Sad news for juice lovers in downtown Vancouver.
The Juice Truck has announced that they’ll be closing their longtime Yaletown location, marking the second major closure for the local brand this year.
The team shared the news on Instagram on October 22, reflecting on over eight years of serving the Yaletown community and hinting at a shift in focus for the company’s next chapter.
According to their post, the lease for the Mainland Street cafe is up.
And with rising costs, the team made the decision to close and focus on expanding their wholesale and production operations.
Their final day in Yaletown will be October 26.
“It’s been an absolute pleasure serving and growing with the Yaletown community,” the post reads. “From day one, the neighbourhood embraced us with open arms, and for that, we’re endlessly grateful.”
Since opening in 2017, the Yaletown shop became one of The Juice Truck’s most recognizable locations.
A bright, welcoming space known for smoothies, juices, and plant-based snacks.
It also played host to pop-ups, local collaborations, and the launch of their vegan soft-serve.
Most recently, the team began rolling out their ready-to-blend frozen smoothies for cafes and restaurants.
The closure follows their Main Street exit earlier this summer, where they handed off the space to longtime collaborator Body Energy Club.
But while the storefronts may be fewer, the brand’s reach has only expanded.
Over the past year, The Juice Truck has grown its wholesale business to over 250 cafes, grocers, and markets across BC.
They’ve also launched a bulk juice program, supplying restaurants, bars, and bakeries with their cold-pressed blends.
“Business, like life, has its seasons,” co-founder Zach said in the farewell message. “We’ve closed two stores this past year, but our business has never been stronger.”
Fans can still find The Juice Truck’s bottled juices at retailers across Metro Vancouver and the team promises that this isn’t goodbye, just an evolution of their mission to make healthy, local options more accessible.
The Juice Truck Yaletown now joins other recently closed Vancouver food spots like Mister Kitsilano, Hon’s Wonton House Broadway, and Potluck Hawker Eatery.
