One of the most affordable spots in downtown Vancouver is about to close its doors after a remarkably short run.
Dix, the Gastown pop-up lounge where everything on the menu cost $10, has announced that its final day of service will be April 5th.
“Our time in Gastown is coming to a quick end,” the team wrote in an Instagram post. “The space has been sold, so we’ll be closing our doors and setting our sights on what’s next.”
Dix soft-opened back in November 2025 in the courtyard unit that previously housed MeeT, the popular plant-based restaurant that closed after a decade in the community.
We covered the opening at the time, noting that the $10 everything concept was a rare find in a city where prices continue to climb.

The menu leaned into comfort food with items like rosemary frites, buffalo swap wings with tzatziki, mango chickn quesadilla, and a teriyaki chickn bagel, all fully plant-based and all priced at $10.
The drinks followed the same pricing model, making it one of the few spots downtown where you could eat and drink without watching the bill stack up.
The lounge also featured live music, film screenings on a projector in the courtyard, and a laid-back atmosphere that set it apart from the typical Gastown nightlife scene.
Despite the affordable approach and the energy it brought to the space, the lounge only lasted about five months before the building sale forced the closure.

The team is framing the shutdown as a temporary one, writing that “this isn’t goodbye, it’s just a move.”
No details have been shared about where Dix might pop up next, and comments on the post show fans already asking for answers.
For those looking to say farewell, Dix is open through April 5th with $10 eats and drinks right up until the end.
That final day falls on Easter Sunday and the start of the long weekend, so expect it to be busy.
The closure adds to what has been a tough stretch for Vancouver’s food and drink scene.
The 12 Water Street courtyard space has now lost two tenants in under two years, and it remains to be seen what the new owners have planned for the unit.
Dix now joins a growing list of recently closed spots in the city, including Purebread in Kitsilano, Liu Yi Shou on Robson, and Osteria Otto.
