A Vietnamese Bánh Mì and Coffee Kiosk Just Opened A Second Downtown Vancouver Outpost

The old Glory Juice kiosk in Coal Harbour just turned into something completely different, and the lunch crowd on West Hastings should probably pay attention.

Nami Vietnamese has soft opened a second downtown location at 1066 West Hastings Street, inside the Oceanic Plaza building.

The new spot, dubbed Nami Oceanic, opened its doors on April 22, 2026.

This is now Nami’s second downtown outpost.

The first, Nami Cafe, sits inside the HSBC building at 885 West Georgia Street, where it took over a former Scuie kiosk.

The brand has roots that go deeper than the kiosk format suggests.

Nami was founded by Kevin Thach, a UBC graduate whose parents previously ran a Vietnamese restaurant on Kingsway.

He first launched Nami as a food truck back in April 2019, before expanding into brick-and-mortar cafe spaces.

The concept blends traditional Vietnamese flavours with a modern grab-and-go format built for the downtown office crowd.

The food menu covers three main categories: bánh mì, vermicelli bowls, and broken rice plates.

Bánh mì options start at $13 and include lemongrass chicken, tofu, classic cold cuts, lemongrass pork, and chasiu pork belly at $13.50. Vermicelli and broken rice plates run from $16.50 to $17, with the same protein options.

Sides include salad rolls for $9, Vietnamese herb salad for $8.50, and pork rolls for $8.

The drinks menu leans into Vietnamese coffee and creative lattes. Expect classic Vietnamese coffee alongside Vietnamese milk foams in flavours like black sesame, ube, matcha, and pandan.

The space itself is compact and clean, with white tile, blue branding, and a counter-service setup that fits the kiosk format.

There is outdoor seating with white chairs along the sidewalk, making it a solid lunch spot when the weather cooperates.

For downtown workers looking for a quick Vietnamese lunch that goes beyond the usual options, Nami Oceanic fills a gap in Coal Harbour that has not had much in the way of Vietnamese food.

Nami Oceanic joins other recently opened food spots in Vancouver, including Kinton Ramen Waterfront Centre, Rongsi, and Little Spoon.
