Saint Germain Bakery Is Marking 40 Years With A Limited Half-Price Portuguese Egg Tarts Deal

Forty years in, one of Metro Vancouver’s most familiar bakery counters is saying thank you in the most delicious way possible.

Saint Germain Bakery is celebrating 40 years of baking with a Canada-wide deal, 50% off its Portuguese egg tarts, a half dozen for just $8.76 instead of the usual $17.49.

The promotion runs from June 22 to June 29, 2026, in-store only, with a limit of six tarts per customer while quantities last.

The Portuguese egg tart is one of the bakery’s calling card, a flaky, buttery pastry, in the shop’s own words, wrapped around a rich and creamy egg custard.

Founded in 1986, Saint Germain grew from a single shop into a Hong Kong-style bakery that a lot of locals have quite literally grown up with.

For plenty of families here, a Saint Germain box has been the default for birthdays, office mornings, and after-dinner treats for decades.

Beyond the tarts, the counters are stocked with the cakes and pastries that built the name over four decades.

It now counts seven locations across Metro Vancouver, with a wider footprint that reaches Ontario and across the border.

The half-price tarts are only the opening act, too.

The bakery says the egg tart week kicks off a year of birthday promotions, with a different fan favourite going 50 percent off for one week every month.

The Portuguese egg tart got the first slot, a nod to how central it is to the Saint Germain lineup.

Reaching 40 years is no small milestone in a city that has watched plenty of longtime bakeries and restaurants close lately.
