Another Aberdeen Food Court Stall Shuts Down in Richmond

Aberdeen Centre’s food court does not leave stalls empty for long.

We spotted earlier this week that LUCA has shut down its stall in the Richmond food court, and the replacement is already serving.

This is not a simple goodbye, though.

The LUCA team told Noms Magazine that they are currently looking for a new location.

That makes this a pause and a hunt, not an ending, for a business that has already moved once.

Our previous report covered LUCA’s relocation into the Aberdeen food court, and the stall format was always a compact version of what the team wanted to do.

The next chapter’s address is an open question, and we will report it when the team lands somewhere.

There is no timeline on the search yet, and the team did not say whether the next home will be another food court stall or a return to a full room.

The stall itself has already flipped to something completely different.

Elcomal, a Mexican cuisine stall, has taken the spot, serving tacos, quesabirria, and soups.

A birria stall inside Aberdeen Centre is its own kind of news, planting Mexican comfort food in the middle of the mall’s Asian food hall lineup.

Quesabirria, the griddle-crisped taco dipped in consommé, has been one of the region’s fastest-spreading formats, and a stall version inside Aberdeen shortens the drive for Richmond fans considerably.

For LUCA’s regulars, the practical note is patience: the team is location-hunting, not entirely gone.

LUCA joins the list of recently closed Richmond spots like Pho Hoa + Jazen Tea, Meet Herb, and Szechuan Tales.
