A milkshake and dessert chain with over 100 shake flavours is opening its first Vancouver shop on Granville Street.
Holy Shakes has made it official on Instagram, announcing its new location at 956 Granville Street as opening soon.
We’d already spotted hiring signs in the windows, right beside the KFC, with the windows still papered over.
There’s no opening date yet.
The brand’s locations page had tagged the shop “Opening September!”, and that’s come and gone.
The announcement does give a first look at the menu, which the brand says “makes choosing one thing basically impossible.”
Shakes lead the lineup, from signature milkshakes like the Oreo Drake to a “Freakshake Hall of Fame” with The Eras Tour Shake and Monsters in the Pit.
On the savoury side, there are smash burgers and sandos, including the Holy Smash Burger, the Big Daddy Sando and a Hot Oil Dunk’n Chicken.
The fusion streak shows up too, with butter chicken cloud baos and a chicken tikka flaky wrap.
For dessert, there’s a Tira-Miss-You Croffle and a Nutella Blast Crepe, and iced coffees like the Espresso Sunset and a Strawberry Iced Latte round it out.
The brand says it caters too, for offices, special events and celebrations.
Holy Shakes already has BC locations in Delta and Surrey, plus shops across Ontario and Alberta and one in Winnipeg.
The story starts in Brampton, where the brand began as a 500 sq ft pop-up kiosk at events during COVID, drawing lineups for over-the-top milkshakes and freakshakes.
The pop-up became a storefront paired with a kathi roll shop, and the sit-down cafe version of Holy Shakes launched later in Calgary.
Next door at 952 Granville, Chaiiwala of London has its “brewing soon” signs up, a unit we first reported back in April.
That’s two new spots opening side by side on the same block of Granville, and neither has a date yet.
Holy Shakes joins other upcoming openings like Bento Cafe in Kerrisdale, Nuan Nuan Beef Noodle House in the West End and Ramen Danbo in Yaletown.
