The Japanese curry scene in Vancouver is heating up!
We spotted signage for Oretachi Curry, known for having the best curry in Osaka, making its way to Main Street!
After opening their first North American outpost in Steveston Village, Richmond last year, Oretachi is ready to bring its authentic Osaka-style curry to the Little Mountain area.
This will be Oretachi’s first Vancouver location and their second in BC, marking an exciting expansion for local curry fans.
When asked about the choice of neighbourhood, the Oretachi team told Noms Magazine, “We chose this location because it’s central in Metro Vancouver. Many of our loyal customers love our curry but can’t always make it out to Steveston. We hope this more convenient spot will allow more people to enjoy our dishes.”
And it looks like the wait won’t be long—they’re hoping to open by the end of next week if all goes smoothly.
If you haven’t tried Oretachi yet, you’re in for a treat!
Founded by Mr. Sugimura in Namba, Osaka, in 2012, the brand became a must-visit after being hailed as “The best Curry in Osaka” on the popular Japanese TV show “YOUは何しに日本へ.”
Their menu offers an array of comforting curry rice dishes, each made with a unique blend of over 20 spices and herbs, prepared fresh daily.
You’ll find delicious items like Pork Cutlet Curry, Chicken Cutlet Ebi Miso Curry Ramen, and even Fried Oyster Curry.
You can customize your curry rice by adding toppings like fried prawn, poached eggs, sausage, or even Hokkaido pumpkin croquettes.
The new location (previous Sushi Hub unit), though compact, will undoubtedly offer a cozy space to enjoy Oretachi’s stellar curry creations.
With all the recent changes in the food scene across Richmond, Burnaby, and downtown, it’s exciting to see something new arriving for the Main Street community.
