The city’s K Town is down a Korean BBQ spot.
Arisu Korean BBQ on North Road has shut down, and the space is already being completely renovated for a new restaurant.

We walked by the location recently and found the entire interior gutted.
New booth framing, fresh tile work, and updated ventilation were all visible through the open doorway.
A large banner across the storefront confirms what is coming next. The space is being taken over by Sizzle, a new all-you-can-eat Korean BBQ concept that is currently marked as “Opening Soon.”

The old Arisu signage is still partially visible on the right side of the storefront, but it is clear the transition is well underway.
Arisu first opened this North Road location back in 2016 and had been a go-to spot in the area for Korean BBQ for nearly ten years.
The restaurant later expanded to a second location in the Edmonds area in 2022.
The Edmonds location remains open and is not affected by this closure.
Based on the Sizzle banner, the new spot will also be an all-you-can-eat Korean BBQ restaurant.
That is a notable detail because it means the space will continue to serve the same style of dining that Arisu was known for.
No opening date has been announced for Sizzle, and there does not appear to be any social media presence for the brand yet.
Given the scale of the renovation, it looks like it could still be a few weeks out.
Arisu now joins other recently closed food spots in Burnaby, including Sushi Toki, Macu Tea, and JOJO Pot.
