Coquitlam’s Fave Korean Street Food Cart To Close For The Season Soon

Coquitlam, it’s almost that sad time of year again.

If you’ve ever strolled past Korea Town Centre (where Hannam Supermarket on North Road is) and caught a whiff of something sweet, warm, and dangerously addictive, chances are you’ve met Kim’s Korean Waffles and Pancakes.

It’s the iconic little cart tucked under the stairs on the plaza.

But here’s the bad news: they’re closing for the season on March 31st.

Yep, it’s almost time to say goodbye to your beloved bungeoppang and hotteok until fall.

For the uninitiated, Kim’s is a longtime fave among locals, making fresh-off-the-iron Korean fish-shaped waffles (bungeoppang) and golden stuffed pancakes (hotteok) that are absolutely magical when eaten piping hot.

The bungeoppang comes in a 3 flavours, but the custard and red bean are no doubt the most popular.

Even though Hannam Supermarket next door now offers bungeoppang too, Kim’s hits different.

The lines at Kim’s is the proof.

Since they run seasonally, March 31 is your final chance before they hibernate until October.

That’s a whole six months without soft, crispy waffles oozing with custard.

So consider this your official PSA: make a stop at Kim’s before the cart rolls away.

Grab a few (or a dozen, no judgment) and enjoy one last bite of cozy street food heaven before the long wait begins.
