One corner of Greektown has been sitting half dark since 2023, when the bakery moved out and the diner beside it caught fire.
The bakery half is finally getting a tenant.
Coming soon signs are up for The Crepe Spot on the West Broadway stretch, in the unit Serano Greek Pastry vacated near Trutch Street.
Serano did not close, for the record.
The family bakery spent 30 years on that corner before moving a couple of blocks east to 3141 West Broadway in April 2023, and it is still open there.
The unit next door has had a rougher run.
Deacon’s Corner’s Kitsilano diner has been closed since an electrical fire tore through its roof and ceilings in February 2023, and it never reopened.
That makes The Crepe Spot the first business to take a swing at this corner in three years.
The business launched in October 2025 as a delivery-only operation, running out of a kitchen at 302 Industrial Avenue and selling through Uber Eats, DoorDash and Skip the Dishes.
Its whole pitch is one texture.
The shop bills itself as BC’s first crunchy crepe, a thin crepe cooked crisp by design rather than folded soft, and the menu runs crunchy and soft side by side along with savoury builds.
Everything is made to order.
The timeline is the loose part.
When we walked past the unit it was still an empty shell, with no counter, no equipment and no visible build-out underway.
Another month or two is a reasonable guess before anything opens, and the team has not announced a date.
Until the doors open, the delivery apps are still the only way to get one, which is where the last ten months of orders have come from anyway.
The Crepe Spot joins other upcoming Vancouver food spots like Nami on Main Street, Como Ultramar, and Mello in West End.
