For many travelers, grabbing a bite at Tim Hortons is the go-to tradition before flying out of Vancouver.
But now, there’s another iconic spot to hit up at YVR—Lee’s Donuts has officially opened a location at the airport!
Lee’s Donuts isn’t just any doughnut shop—it’s a beloved Vancouver brand with a history that stretches back to 1968.
When Betty-Ann and Alan Lee traded their government jobs for something sweeter, they couldn’t have imagined the legacy they’d create.
By the summer of 1979, Lee’s Donuts had become a staple in the Granville Island Public Market, known for its simple yet irresistible doughnuts.
Over the decades, Lee’s Donuts has become a must-visit spot for anyone craving a classic treat.
After Alan’s passing in 2014, Betty-Ann passed the torch to Allan and Celine Bacani, long-time customers who were committed to preserving the Lee’s Donuts legacy.
Under their ownership, the brand has expanded significantly, with a new outpost in Steveston Village that just soft-opened earlier this month and another location coming to Amazing Brentwood this fall.
Now, travelers at YVR can grab one of Lee’s famous honey dip doughnuts at the new location in the A/B Pier Domestic Food Court.
If you’re in need of a quick pick-me-up before a flight or just want to savour a piece of Vancouver’s culinary history, Lee’s Donuts is a sweet new addition to the airport’s food scene.
They are joining other local favourites like Triple O’s and Purebread who opened this year in the airport.
