Long’s Noodle House To Reopen in Richmond Food Court Soon [UPDATED]

Update Oct 23: The sign for Long’s Noodle’s new home is now up at the food stall. No opening date has been announced but it surely won’t be long!

After a devastating and unfortunate fire earlier this May, Long’s Noodle House, a local icon in Shanghainese cuisine, was forced to close.

Many were awaiting for news on when the restaurant would return or just any update!

Well, now we know Long’s is finally making its highly-anticipated return.

Its new home?

Trio Bistro Passes the Baton

Trio Bistro announced on their public Facebook group that yesterday, October 14th, marks the last day for their Chef and their team.

They’re handing over the reins to Long’s Noodle House, a restaurant they’ve admired for its traditional handmade items.

As Trio Bistro bids farewell, a new chapter begins for Long’s and Admiralty Centre.

For those unfamiliar with Admiralty Centre, the food court is a busy one – especially during the weekends.

Inside you have Riceholic and its massive lineup for their viral mango mochi, longtime Kam Ho Noodle Express for its Wonton Noodles and Hainanese Chicken and rice, and other stalls.

We can imagine that the food court will be now even busier with Long’s Noodle House making its entrance.

Fire and Rebirth: A Rollercoaster Year for Long’s

If you haven’t heard of the unfortunate fire that has affected Long’s, lets get you up to speed!

On the early morning of May 13th, a fire broke out in an empty unit next to Long’s in the Riley Park Main Street area.

The inferno led to significant damages, including likely smoke and water damage throughout the restaurant.

The event forced the restaurant to close its doors, leaving fans and foodies to wonder when—or even if—it would make a comeback.

No injuries were reported from the incident, and the cause of the fire has still yet to be confirmed.

A source close to the restaurant revealed at that time, Long’s Noodle House had been planning a brief hiatus anyway, after the busy Mother’s Day Weekend.

The fire simply accelerated those plans.

Who is Long’s Noodle House?

Established in 1992, Long’s Noodle House has been a staple in Vancouver’s culinary scene and Riley Park-Little Mountain area, specializing in Shanghainese cuisine.

With a menu boasting mouth-watering options such as dim sum, soups, fried rice, and noodles, Long’s has become renowned for its legendary Xiao Long Bao and beef noodle soup.

Since its inception, Long’s Noodle House has been a family-owned business, focusing on quality ingredients and traditional Shanghainese cooking techniques.

What’s Next?

As of now, there are no further details regarding the opening date of Long’s Noodle House in Richmond’s Admiralty Centre.

But one thing is clear: the return of Long’s is not just a reopening—it’s a homecoming for a community of die-hard fans eagerly awaiting their next bowl of legendary beef noodle soup or Xiao Long Bao.
