The 24/7 bakery Surrey has been waiting on since last fall finally has an opening date.
Breka Bakery and Café is opening its newest location at King George Hub on June 18, and like every other Breka, it will run 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
The shop sits at George Junction Way, right next to the King George SkyTrain station, with free one-hour parking out front.
We first flagged this one back in October, after signage for Breka went up, a TikTok clip showed it off, and PCI Developments confirmed the bakery was on the way.
At the time there was no opening date, and Breka had not said anything on its own channels.
Now the countdown is officially on, with the brand announcing the June 18 grand opening on Instagram.
For Surrey, this is a genuine gap getting filled.
A true 24/7 bakery and café is rare south of the Fraser, and this is Breka’s first location in the city.
For students nearby and anyone working late, a bakery that never closes right at a SkyTrain station is a real quality-of-life upgrade.
If you do not know the name, Breka started as a small family bakery near Fraser and 49th in Vancouver back in 2006.
It quietly grew into an all-hours staple, with multiple shops across Vancouver that stay busy with students, shift workers, and anyone who needs a coffee and a pastry at 3am.
Breka has been on a steady expansion run lately, adding locations in spots like Richmond Centre and East Vancouver, and Surrey is next.
The menu is built for that around-the-clock crowd.
Expect a long case of cakes, donuts, and cookies alongside sandwiches and a full lineup of hot drinks, available whenever you walk in.
It is the kind of place that does not really have an off hour.
King George Hub itself is turning into a reason to get off at that SkyTrain stop.
The development is bringing 886 new homes plus a mix of retailers, and Breka lands alongside names like Anytime Fitness, BMO, and Sandbox VR.
