One Cambie corner is about to have three bubble tea spots on a single block.
CoCo, the popular Taiwanese bubble tea chain, has put up coming-soon signage at a new Cambie Street unit in the Oakridge and Langara area, right next to Chi Cha San Chen.
Chatime sits across the street.

The signage on the door also tells the wider story behind the move.
The brand is relocating from its existing 405 SW Marine Drive location to this new Cambie Street unit.
CoCo opened its first Vancouver shop in 2016 and now runs locations across Vancouver, Burnaby, Coquitlam, Richmond, and North Vancouver, with more than 5000 stores worldwide.
For Vancouver bubble tea drinkers, the chain has been a familiar fixture for close to a decade, and it has steadily added locations across the metro region during that time.
The new unit drops CoCo straight into the busiest bubble tea cluster on the Cambie line.
Chi Cha San Chen, the Taiwanese fresh-brewed tea brand known for its black teas and oolongs, sits next door.
Chatime, the longtime Taiwanese bubble tea chain, has been across the street for years.

Once CoCo opens, locals and Langara College students walking this stretch will have three bubble tea options within steps of each other.
It is an interesting observation that these chains have opted not to open inside the upcoming Oakridge Mall, but to have their own storefronts a block away.
An exact opening date has not been posted yet.
CoCo Langara now joins other upcoming food spots in Vancouver like Angus T West End, Lee’s Donut Langara, and Namba Curry.
