There is a tiny new dessert shop across from Richmond City Hall that just soft opened, and the portion sizes alone are worth the visit.
Daydreamers by Cafe33 quietly opened on April 28, 2026, at 8060 Anderson Road in Richmond, directly across from Richmond Centre Mall.

We first wrote about Daydreamers back when the space was still being built out.
Celeste, the owner, has been documenting the entire journey on her YouTube channel, from tearing down the old Pokey Okey decor to building her dream dessert cafe from the ground up.
She has been open about the personal experiences that led her here, and has been doing as much of the renovation work as she can on her own.
We stopped by anonymously to check it out now that it is open.

Celeste greeted us with a glowing smile and walked us through everything.
The shop is small, a narrow room with a gelato display case running down one side and white tile walls keeping things clean and bright.
But if you look around the shop, you’ll notice signs and phrases that align with Daydreamers’ positive, bright, and ambitious vibes.
This adds to the charm of the cafe and you can’t help but want to root for Celeste.

The gelato case was fully loaded.
Flavours include chocolate, vanilla bean, pistachio, mango, cookies and cream, white chocolate raspberry, durian, salted caramel, and espresso.
A single scoop is $5.75, double is $7.50, and a five-scoop flight goes for $19.50. Waffle cone upgrade is $1.

But the real move here is the drinks.
Daydreamers carries specialty Vietnamese coffee alongside matcha and milk-based options.
The standout format is the Vietnamese Coffee Latte with Ube Cream, and you can even put it up another notch by adding any flavour of gelato on top for just $4.
We went with the Vietnamese Coffee Latte with Ube Cream and added coconut gelato on top.
The portion was ACTUALLY generous to the point where our cup was overfilling.
Celeste mentioned that she uses real ube here, and you can tell.
The ube cream sat thick and purple on top of the bold Vietnamese coffee, and when the coconut gelato started melting into it, the whole thing turned into a cold, creamy layered drink that hit like a dessert and a caffeine kick at the same time.
Don’t expect to be able to sleep if you’re the type who gets affected by caffeine easily.

There is also a banana pudding coffee, a salted cream coffee, and the option to sub in ube or taro milk for a caffeine-free version.
The shop also does affogatos for $7.50 in Vietnamese coffee, matcha, or milk tea.
During the soft opening period, all items are 10% off and every customer gets a cute Daydreamers tote bag that reads “Where Imagination Runs Free.”
It’s another nod to Celeste’s vision.
The spot closes in the evenings soooooo with summer weather on the way, a late-night gelato and Vietnamese coffee spot in this part of Richmond fills a gap that the area has not had covered.
