Oakberry has opened its first Richmond location, and it grand opened on July 19.
This comes after a rather length renovation time as we first spotted the coming soon signs back in January 2026.
The shop sits in the Galleria at Concord Gardens, steps from Capstan Station, the modern tower cluster that keeps adding food to the neighbourhood.
We walked by right after the opening and found a crowd stacked three and four deep at the counter, staff working the blenders behind them.
This is the brand’s first address in Richmond, after locations already running in Vancouver and Burnaby.
Oakberry is the acai chain that launched in 2016 and grew into a global operation with more than 600 stores worldwide.
The pitch is built around one fruit, layered rather than blitzed.
You order an acai base and it gets built up with toppings like fresh fruit, granola, and chia seeds, so the bowl has texture instead of a single frozen slush.
The brand leans hard on the word clean, meaning bowls made without artificial dyes, preservatives, or added syrups.
The Richmond menu runs signature bowls, build-your-own bowls, and signature smoothies off the boards above the counter.
The build-your-own path is the draw for regulars, picking a base size off the board and stacking toppings until the bowl is yours.
With Diabetes Plaza across the street, this makes for a semi-healthy option among the sea of bubble tea shops.
Oakberry Richmond now joins other recently opened Richmond food spots like Toki’s matcha trailer on Wireless Way, One Cafe at Lansdowne Centre, and Taoke at Aberdeen Centre.
