One of Richmond’s most well-known food streets is going through some serious changes right now, and a new all you can eat izakaya is the latest to join the mix.
We spotted fresh new signage for Ten’ichi Izakaya at Alexandra Road, taking over the unit previously occupied by the longtime Manzo Izakaya.
Based on the signage, it will be serving all you can eat.
For fans of the old spot, the good news is that izakaya will continue on in the same space.

According to our source, Ten’ichi is a mom and pop operation run by owners who previously ran a Japanese restaurant in Toronto before moving out to the West Coast and setting up shop in Richmond.
Peeking through the window, much of the interior looks like it will stay the same, which means the space could be ready to open sooner rather than later.
The signage was done by SIGNUP, the custom signage store that has been behind many of the recent new food spots popping up around the city, including Alfa Tea, Miion Cafe, Bento Cafe, and Doe Coffee.
But Ten’ichi is just one piece of a bigger shift happening on Alexandra Road right now.
Just next door, Golden Time BBQ has quietly shut down, but banners on the unit indicate that a new Korean BBQ concept will be taking its place.

Down the block, Little Karp’s unit is being taken over by Cafe Gloucester, the longtime HK-style cafe that has been a staple at their Cambie location.
This will mark Cafe Gloucester’s first expansion beyond their original spot.
Alexandra Road has always been one of Richmond’s signature food streets, packed with restaurants that have drawn locals and visitors from across the region.
But like many food corridors in the city, it has seen its share of turnover in recent months as the economy puts pressure on smaller operators.
No official opening date has been confirmed for Ten’ichi yet, but with the signage up and the interior largely intact, it could be a matter of weeks.
