If you have ever wanted to DIY your own bubble tea and add as many toppings as you want, you can now do so at Crystal Mall.
A Noms Mag community member (Valerie) spotted Toppings InfiniTEA quietly opened on Oct 4th.
The system is simple once you’re inside.

Your journey begins at the counter, where you can purchase either a regular or large empty cup.

Then it’s over to a chilled cabinet that has 18 different toppings to choose from.
You’ll find a variety of common toppings and some uncommon ones.
For instance, popping boba in lychee, peach and yogurt, or coconut jelly in four flavours, grass jelly, taro and diced mango.

The tea comes out of a long row of drink dispensers that wraps around the wall, 24 flavours split between milk teas, green milk teas and fruity iced teas.
Last stop is back at the counter for a lid and straw.

There are no refills allowed so choose wisely!
We dropped by anonymously in the first week to see the available options.
We got a regular cup and filled it with lychee popping boba, coconut jelly and grass jelly, then topped it up with Thai milk tea.

We didn’t want to completely load up the drink, but nothing stops you from scooping a lot more.
Taste-wise, it isn’t meant to compete with the likes of CoCo, Heytea or Alfa Tea, which are all around the same Metrotown area.
I’d say the draw would be for families or a group of friends here, where building the cup together is half the fun.
Hot drinks are marked “coming soon” on the price sign at the counter, so it’s cold cups only for now.
Toppings InfiniTEA joins other new Burnaby food spots like Yang’s Fook Kee, Yin Ji Chang Fen and Hei Hei Rice Roll.
