A Michelin-recommended West Coast restaurant at UBC is closing on November 28, after nearly four years.
Wildlight Kitchen + Bar announced the news on Instagram.
The team wrote that ownership “has made the incredibly difficult decision to close our restaurant on November 28, 2026.”
Most of the announcement is a thank-you to the staff, whose “dedication, passion, hard work and commitment to serving our guests has been at the heart of Wildlight since we opened our doors.”
Those doors opened on February 2, 2023.
Wildlight was the first restaurant from B.C.’s Pattison Food Group, with chef Warren Chow running the opening kitchen.
The launch menu leaned on local producers, from gin-steamed Salt Spring Island mussels to a pescatarian charcuterie board with house-made salmon pastrami.
Three months in, Wildlight took first place in both the New Restaurant and Pacific Northwest categories at the Georgia Straight’s 2023 Golden Plates.
The Michelin Guide then listed it as a recommended restaurant, and the restaurant’s own site counts that recognition in 2023, 2024 and 2025.
Executive chef Tim Hui leads the kitchen now.
A follow-up post from the team says that they’re “going out with a bang,” with “one final menu, celebrating everyone who built this place into what it became.”
The current menu still carries the dishes Wildlight opened with.

Wildlight will join other recent Vancouver closures like Kim House, Caffè Artigiano on Main Street and Their There.
