Crystal Mall is turning into a serious destination for Chinese BBQ lovers, and the latest addition is opening its doors very soon.
Back in December, we shared that we spotted signs for Money Foods Ent. (萬利燒臘), a well-known Chinese BBQ shop with its flagship in Vancouver’s Chinatown, is opening a second location at Crystal Mall in Burnaby.
They are taking over the unit formerly occupied by Sunshine Cafe, located right across from Yunshang Rice Noodle.

A handwritten sign posted on the front door confirms the grand opening for Friday, March 6 at 10:30 a.m.

We walked by earlier in the week and spotted the signage already up, with the interior looking just about ready to go.
Through the window, you can see a clean, compact space with a service counter, display cases for the roast meats, and a small seating area with a couple of tables.
It looks like a classic siu mei shop setup, built for quick pickups with the option to sit down if you want.
Money Food Ent is well-known for its no-nonsense operation in Chinatown’s Gore Avenue for the last 29 years.

It’s the OG spot where you grab a box of roast pork or duck if you’re in that area.
That same no-frills approach is what they are bringing to Burnaby.
The timing is interesting because Crystal Mall has been quietly building up a cluster of Chinese BBQ options.
RGK, another Chinese BBQ spot, recently opened in the mall as well.
That means Crystal Mall now has multiple dedicated roast meat shops competing in the same complex, which is great news if you are the type who likes to compare your char siu options.

It is starting to feel like a mini BBQ row in there.
The new location opens on Friday, March 6 at 10:30 a.m.
Money Food Ent. will be joining other recently opened food spots in Burnaby like Panda Pancake, Matcha Tea Lab, No Frills Heights.
