A new English-style pub from the team behind Sing Sing just soft opened on Burnaby’s Rosser Avenue, right across from The Amazing Brentwood.
Greyhound Tavern soft launched on October 26 at 1908 Rosser Avenue, in the unit that was home to Browns Socialhouse until it shut down in August.
It’s a short walk from both Brentwood Town Centre and Gilmore SkyTrain stations, and tables can already be booked on OpenTable.

The pub comes from Freehouse Collective, the hospitality arm of the Donnelly Group.
That’s the same crew behind Sing Sing, Lamplighter, Three Brits and Ballyhoo.
The pitch here is a proper pub by day that turns into a low-lit lounge after dark.
Freehouse stripped the old Browns room back to make it happen.

Photos from the team show a round green velvet booth built around a tree, patterned rugs, a stone feature wall and a corner of leather armchairs looking out onto Rosser.
On the food side, the kitchen leans on steaks, fresh-shucked oysters and pub classics.
Starters include prawn cocktails and giant onion rings, with mains like a house spaghetti bolognese and fish and chips.

Weekend and holiday mornings switch over to a brasserie-style brunch with steak and eggs, Benedicts and smoked salmon lox.
Happy hour runs twice a day, from 2 to 5 p.m. and again from 10 p.m. to close, with oysters going for $2.75 each.
The screens are set to live sports, and there are pub games on the floor.

Things change on weekend nights, when DJs take over until close.
Upstairs, a private dining room called The Drawing Room is set up for groups who want a door they can close.
Out front, the streetside patio along Rosser comes with trees and a heated lawn bowling lane.
If you’re in the Brentwood area for a game or an after-work pint, the late happy hour is the one to plan around, since it runs right up until close.
Greyhound Tavern joins other recent Burnaby openings like Toppings InfiniTEA, Yang’s Fook Kee and Yin Ji Chang Fen.
