A familiar coffee shop in the heart of Davie Village has quietly disappeared, and a new concept is already taking shape in its place.
Trees Organic Coffee at 1160 Davie Street in Vancouver has closed.
The unit went dark in mid-February with what initially looked like renovations happening inside.

It turns out it was not renovations for Trees.
Another brand has taken over the space entirely.
We walked by the unit earlier this week and found new signage in the windows.
The storefront now reads Organic Bites, with the tagline “Wellness in every bite.”

The old Trees sign is still partially visible above, but the windows are covered in new branding advertising coffee, cold pressed juices, smoothies, burgers, salads, wraps, sandwiches, bowls, and immunity shots.
Peeking through the glass, the interior renovations appear to be nearly complete.
New furniture is being set up inside, including light wood tables and grey upholstered seating.
There was no public announcement from Trees about the closure.

The Davie Street location does not appear on the Trees Coffee website’s location page anymore.
Trees Organic Coffee has been a Vancouver fixture since 1996.
The brand is known for its organic coffee and its New York-style cheesecakes, which have earned it a loyal following across the city.
The Davie Village location opened back in 2020, taking over the previous Starbucks unit.
While the Davie Street spot is gone, Trees Coffee is not slowing down elsewhere.
The company has been expanding aggressively near SkyTrain stations in recent years.

It opened a location at Capstan Station in Richmond in late 2025 and has added spots at Renfrew Station and Gilmore Station as well.
A new location at King Edward Village is also in the works.
The shift appears to be strategic.
Trees is moving toward transit-oriented locations while pulling back from some of its older street-level spots.
Trees Coffee Davie now joins other recently closed food spots in Vancouver like Bacaro, Noodle Arts, and Jamjar Canteen UBC.
